This is the development area for the NSIDC JazPanel. Version 1.1b was released in November 2003. Please see the release notes for information on what has changed.
The JazPanel is a Java-based geographic area selection applet. It provides the capability to define latitude/longitude bounding boxes, row/column bounding boxes, or spherical quadrilaterals on a variety of projections by either drawing on a map or entering values into text fields.
The JazPanel is still in development. Jaz comes in two flavors: "Mostly Java" and "Mostly HTML". The tar file containing source, docs, and class files is jaz.tar.gz. (Right click and choose "Save As.") After you extract the file, you should be able to open the index.html file in your browser and see this page. If you have questions or need help, please contact NSIDC User Services.
