Here is your chance to make a difference in the world of climate change. The National Snow and Ice Data Center is looking for a Web Administrator. NSIDC is a University of Colorado center and a component of the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES). NSIDC manages and distributes scientific data, creates tools for data access, supports data users, performs scientific research, and educates the public about the cryosphere. You will be involved with the delivery and distribution of satellite derived data for the scientific study of the polar regions.
The Web Administrator will maintain the NSIDC web site (http://nsidc.org), provide web technology solutions and services to improve the efficiency of NSIDC processes, and ensure the effectiveness of web services and programs. As web administrator you will build, manage, and administer Apache web servers, including web server configurations and site security. You will also create access reports and logs and monitor the site for acceptable performance and user accessibility. The position will involve proactively implementing and maintaining Internet based technology to improve process efficiency.
The position will be filled as a Professional Research Assistant at the University of Colorado at Boulder and will be eligible for employee benefits, including 22 days of vacation per year and an excellent savings plan.
